Inspection is key ...

Winter can take a toll on your vehicle. Whether you drive a company car, commercial vehicle, or even a semi, you need to inspect your vehicle to ensure it’s ready to go during springtime. Your safety depends on it!

Inspection checklist

In this article, I’ll focus specifically on commercial vehicles. Sometimes inspections can be difficult, especially if you aren’t sure what to look for. Here’s a checklist you can follow for a simple inspection or ask your local mechanic to check for:

  • Air filters
  • Hose clamps
  • Radiator
  • Timing belts
  • Lights
  • Windshield wipers
  • Battery
  • Coolant
  • Air conditioning
  • Brakes and brake pads
  • Tire tread
  • Oil changes
  • Exterior and interior
  • Wheel alignment
  • Engine

Listen and learn

Some of the items on the checklist above can be easily identified. However, you can also listen to your vehicle for other mechanical issues since some problems aren’t as easily identifiable.

Key to remember: Vehicle safety is especially important once spring comes around. Be sure you take time to inspect your vehicle to ensure it’s running correctly.
