Any liquid with a flashpoint at or below 199.4°F is considered a flammable liquid. Flammable liquids are used in many workplaces for a variety of reasons, and they pose significant hazards if not handled, used, and stored properly. In general, OSHA requires employers to properly design and install storage tanks; use only approved containers; follow storage requirements and limitations; prevent vapors from igniting; provide appropriate firefighting equipment; and control leakage.
