- The FMLA applies to all public employers and to private employers with 50 or more employees.
- The FMLA entitles eligible employees to up to 12 weeks of unpaid, job-protected leave in a 12-month leave year period; 26 weeks for military caregiver leave.
The federal Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) entitles eligible employees of covered employers to up to 12 workweeks of job-protected, unpaid leave in a 12-month leave year for certain qualifying reasons. Eligible employees may take up to 26 workweeks of leave for military caregiving purposes.
