Wherever there is machinery, there is also the risk of mechanical hazards. Any operation in which material is cut, shaped, bored, or formed creates the potential for injury to employees. To protect them from mechanical hazards, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration requires employers to implement safeguarding methods necessary to prevent exposure to injury.
