Audits
  • A company should ensure its labor law posters are current and compliant in the event of an audit.

It’s important for employers to stay on top of changes and new requirements for labor law postings. When a mandatory posting change occurs, the new version must be displayed. If an employee has questions about an employment right, the posters need to include the most recent required information. In addition, required posters will be on an auditor’s checklist. In the event of an audit, a company’s posters need to be current and compliant.

The display of updated posters is also a visible way to demonstrate that an employer takes compliance seriously. Properly displaying labor law posters is a step employers can take to document that good-faith efforts are being made to be in compliance with government regulations.

The fact that the posters are hanging on the wall in conspicuous locations for all employees to see clearly shows a company’s efforts to make employees aware of individual rights.
