We just finished conducting noise testing on four employees in one area of our facility. Three of the tests came back under 80 decibels; however, one tested over 85 decibels. The area has never tested this high before. Do we have to retest?

We provide hearing tests to all of our employees, which are voluntary if the exposure is below OSHA’s limits. Are we still responsible if someone has a Standard Threshold Shift (STS), but they’re exposed under 85dB at work?
