The 60th parallel refers to the latitudinal line that runs along the northern borders of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario (the line also runs through the very northern portion of Quebec). Drivers operating north of the 60th parallel in the Yukon Territories and the Northwest Territories are allowed slightly longer driving times, daily on-duty time, and a 20-hour workshift. The cycles north of the 60th parallel are also longer than those for drivers south of the 60th parallel.
