The risk assessment is broken down into these components:
- The risk assessment is to be done by a qualified person and contains all the other six components
- Next, the task to be performed has to be identified, as well as where is to be done and when.
- Select and appropriate machine bases on the task, condition of the ground or surface it will be operating on, and how near it will be to other employees or the public.
- Identify risks associated with location, machine type, ground conditions, etc.
- Select control measures to mitigate the risks.
- Determine safe work practices to complete task.
- Rescue may be needed due to machine failure such as loss of power to the platform controls.
- The final step is to communicate the results of the assessment to other people and companies involved.
