- Screening tests for antibody to HCV (anti-HCV)
- Enzyme immunoassay (EIA)
- Enhanced chemiluminescence immunoassay (CIA)
- Qualitative tests to detect presence or absence of virus (HCV RNA polymerase chain reaction [PCR])
- Quantitative tests to detect amount (titer) of virus (HCV RNA PCR)
