The Inspection Division of the Department of Labor is responsible for administering and enforcing the following laws:

- RSA 275 Protective Legislation
- RSA 275-A Citizens Job Protection

- RSA 279 Minimum Wage Law
and the following administrative rules:

State Child Labor Laws: With some exemptions, minors must be at least 12 years of age to be employed in the state of New Hampshire. New Hampshire law prohibits work in some occupations and limits working hours for persons under the age of 18. A New Hampshire Youth Employment Certificate is required for any minor 12 to 15 years of age.

State Minimum Wage: Effective September 1, 2008, the minimum wage increased to $7.25 per hour.
Overtime: With some exceptions, New Hampshire employers must pay 11/2 times an employee's regular wage rate whenever an employee works more than 40 hours in any scheduled workweek.

State Prevailing Wage: New Hampshire does not have a prevailing wage law; it was repealed in 1985.
