The Wage and Hour Division of the Indiana Department of Labor is authorized to promote the voluntary arbitration, mediation, and conciliation of disputes between employers and employees. This Division is also responsible for enforcing the Indiana Minimum Wage Law, which requires that workers be paid established wage rates on public works projects. State Child Labor Laws: The Bureau of Child Labor administers and enforces Indiana's child labor laws. These regulations apply to every teenager between the ages of 14 and 17 who wants to work in the state. The Bureau inspects employers who hire teenagers to ensure they are complying with the law. It also provides numerous educational materials to educate teenagers, parents, school officials, and employers about the law.
The Indiana child labor requirements can be found in Title 20, Article 33, Chapter 3 of the Indiana Code.
State Minimum Wage: The minimum wage for Indiana employees is $7.25 per hour effective July 24, 2009. The State law excludes from coverage any employment that is subject to the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act.

Overtime: Premium pay is required after 40 hours weekly.

State Prevailing Wage: $150,000 is set as the threshold amount for contract coverage under the state prevailing wage law.
