Wyoming titles and lien filings are processed through the local county clerk office in the county seat of the county of residence. For specific titling or lien questions, it is best to contact the appropriate county clerk office directly.
The following items may be required to obtain a vehicle title within Wyoming:
- Title application;
- Vehicle identification number (VIN) inspection statement, if applicable;
- Photo identification;
- Dealer's invoice;
- Proof of insurance;
- Manufacturer's certificate of origin, if applicable;
- Properly assigned title, if applicable;
- Notarized bill of sale, if applicable; and
- Payment for all applicable fees.
Other relevant information includes:
- The vehicle and/or vehicle title may be subject to sales and use tax,
- Wyoming generally allows credit for tax paid to another state, and
- VIN inspections are required for out-of-state vehicles.
Agency: Wyoming Department of Transportation, Motor Vehicle Services.
Fees: Title fees will vary depending on the county clerk office; however, a standard title fee within Wyoming is typically around $15.
