New Jersey operates an OSHA-approved State Plan covering most private sector workers and all state and local government workers. The New Jersey Public Employees Occupational Safety and Health (PEOSH) has adopted identically all OSHA standards and regulations applicable to state and local government employment pertaining to carcinogens with additional protection for minors under the age of 18.
PEOSH prohibits minors under 18 years of age from being employed, permitted, or suffered to work where they may be exposed to carcinogenic substances.
