Nevada operates an OSHA-approved State Plan covering most private sector workers and all state and local government workers. The Nevada Occupational Safety and Health Administration (Nevada OSHA) has incorporated most OSHA standards by reference with a few additions for specialized situations.
Additional stipulations include:
- The following substances shall be deemed to be known carcinogens that are reasonably associated with the following disabling cancers:
- Diesel exhaust, formaldehyde and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon = known carcinogens associated with bladder cancer.
- Acrylonitrile, formaldehyde and vinyl chloride = known carcinogens associated with brain cancer.
- Asbestos, benzene, diesel exhaust and soot, digoxin, ethylene oxide, polychlorinated biphenyls and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon = known carcinogens associated with breast cancer.
- Diesel exhaust and formaldehyde = known carcinogens associated with colon cancer.
- Diesel exhaust and soot, formaldehyde and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon = known carcinogens associated with esophageal cancer.
- Formaldehyde = known carcinogens associated with Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
- Formaldehyde and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon = known carcinogens associated with kidney cancer.
- Benzene, diesel exhaust and soot, formaldehyde, 1,3-butadiene and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon = known carcinogens associated with leukemia.
- Chloroform, soot and vinyl chloride = known carcinogens associated with liver cancer.
- Arsenic, asbestos, cadmium, chromium compounds, oils, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon, radon, silica, soot and tars = known carcinogens associated with lung cancer.
- Acrylonitrile, benzene, formaldehyde, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon, soot and vinyl chloride = known carcinogens associated with lymphatic or hematopoietic cancer.
- Diesel exhaust, soot, aldehydes and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon = known carcinogens associated with basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma and malignant melanoma.
- Benzene, dioxins and glyphosate = known carcinogens associated with multiple myeloma.
- Arsenic, asbestos, benzene, diesel exhaust and soot, formaldehyde and hydrogen chloride = known carcinogens associated with nasopharyngeal cancer, including laryngeal cancer and pharyngeal cancer.
- Benzene, chronic hepatitis B and C viruses, formaldehyde and polychlorinated biphenyls = known carcinogens associated with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
- Asbestos, benzene and formaldehyde = known carcinogens associated with ovarian cancer.
- Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon = known carcinogens associated with pancreatic cancer.
- Acrylonitrile, benzene and formaldehyde = known carcinogens associated with prostate cancer.
- Diesel exhaust and soot, formaldehyde and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon = known carcinogens associated with rectal cancer.
- Chlorophenols, chlorophenoxy herbicides and polychlorinated biphenyls = known carcinogens associated with soft tissue sarcoma.
- Diesel exhaust and soot, formaldehyde and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon = known carcinogens associated with stomach cancer.
- Diesel exhaust, soot and polychlorinated biphenyls = known carcinogens associated with testicular cancer.
- Diesel exhaust, benzene and X-ray radiation = known carcinogens associated with thyroid cancer.
- Diesel exhaust and soot, formaldehyde and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon = known carcinogens associated with urinary tract cancer and ureteral cancer.
- Benzene and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon = known carcinogens associated with uterine cancer.
