Summary of differences between federal and state regulations
The Idaho Department of Labor, Wage and Hour Section administers and enforces civil rights and labor standards which have been enacted for the protection of state workers.
There is a provision for paying new employees who are less than 20 years old less than the minimum wage for their first ninety consecutive calendar days.
The state law lists exemptions for employees employed in executive, administrative, or professional capacity; to agriculture labor as defined in Idaho Code 72-1304; to anyone engaged in domestic service; to any individual employed as an outside salesman; to seasonal employees of a nonprofit camping program; or to any child under the age of sixteen (16) years working part-time or at odd jobs not exceeding four (4) hours per day with any one (1) employer.
