Part II: Permits
(1) The Registrar may refuse to issue, replace or renew a CVOR certificate if the applicant owes an outstanding fee, fine or administrative penalty, or any interest or penalty that is in respect of such a fee, fine or penalty, under this Act, the Provincial Offences Act, the Public Vehicles Act or the Motor Vehicle Transport Act (Canada). 2014, c. 9, Sched. 2, s. 5; 2017, c. 2, Sched. 17, s. 3.
Note: On a day to be named by proclamation of the Lieutenant Governor, subsection 17.0.2 (1) of the Act is amended by adding "before its repeal" after "the Public Vehicles Act". (See: 2020, c. 34, Sched. 23, s. 7 (5))
Subject to terms or conditions or invalid for more than 12 months
(2) The Registrar shall refuse to renew a CVOR certificate,
(a) that was issued subject to any terms or conditions pursuant to subsection 17 (1.1); or
(b) that has been invalid for more than 12 months before the application for renewal is received by the Registrar. 2014, c. 9, Sched. 2, s. 5.
Prescribed reason
(3) The Registrar may refuse to issue, replace or renew a CVOR certificate for any other reason that may be prescribed. 2014, c. 9, Sched. 2, s. 5.
