While Ontario allows only the plate number(s) for identification of the vehicle(s), the Ministry of Transportation-Ontario has reported that if a driver enters Ontario with the unit numbers listed, the driver will be asked to add the plate numbers onto the log. No citation will be issued unless the driver refuses.
