This standard applies to tank vehicles used for the transportation of asphalt or normally stable flammable and combustible liquids having a flash point below 200? F. The standard covers the design and construction of cargo tanks and their appurtenances and additional safety factors such as high rates of expansion, instability, corrosiveness and toxicity. OSHA references NFPA 385 in 1926.152 on flammable and combustible liquids by requiring that tank trucks shall comply with the requirements.
