This standard covers requirements for safety in the design, construction and operation of solvent extraction processes involving the use of flammable solvents. It applies to the commercial scale solvent extraction process of animal and vegetable oils and fats by use of flammable solvents, and to all equipment and buildings within 100 feet of the extraction process. It does not include raw stock storage.
