This standard provides reasonable safeguards for the prevention and control of fire and explosion hazards incident to dry cleaning operations for the protection of employees and the public. Among other things the standard requires that: Dry cleaning by immersion and agitation in open vessels is prohibited; The use of solvents with a flashpoint below that for which a machine is designed shall be prohibited; Class I solvent use is prohibited.
