Abstract: This standard applies to the design and performance criteria and test methods for protective clothing designed to protect fire fighters, to improve the protection such protective clothing affords. It applies to clothing worn for protection against extremes of temperature, steam, hot water, hot particles, and other hazards. Among other things the standard requires that:
- Protective clothing shall be repaired in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions.
- Protective clothing shall give minimal interference to physical movement.
