OSHA does not require that the written procedures be posted or in-hand during lockout/tagout, but employers should ensure that authorized employees can somehow review them as needed so that the correct procedures are being followed.
As a good practice, some employers mark lockout points on the machine’s energy isolating devices or post photos of the equipment’s lockout points on the machine.
