International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA)
Under ISTEA, the State of Hawaii is exempt from having to join the International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA).
The State of Hawaii does not have any fuel tax registration or reporting requirements for motor carriers operating in the state. All fuel tax is paid at the time of fuel delivery into the vehicle tank, therefore, motor carriers are not required to file fuel use tax reports.
