Transportation of Hazardous Materials
No permit is required to transport hazardous materials within the state.
Transportation of Hazardous Waste
Transporters of hazardous waste must register with the TCEQ. To register, transporters can complete the Notification for Hazardous or Industrial Waste Management (TCEQ¬¬¬-00002).

Alternative Fuels
Every bobtail truck, semitrailer, container delivery unit, or other motor vehicle equipped with LP-Gas must register with the Railroad Commission of Texas. A registration fee of $270 for each unit must be paid to AFS. When registration requirements have been met, AFS will issue LPG Form 4. A license must also be obtained from the Railroad Commission of Texas prior to transportation.
No person may perform work, directly supervise LP-Gas activities, and/or be employed in any capacity requiring contact with LP-Gas unless the individual has received a certificate by completing and passing a management-level or employee-level examination. An applicant for a new certificate must file a properly completed LPG Form 16 and the applicable, nonrefundable fee with AFS, as well as pass the examination with a minimum score of 75% and complete any required training. The management-level rules examination fee is $70, and the employee-level fee is $40. Certificate holders must pay the $35 annual certificate renewal fee to AFS on or before May 31 of each year. Individuals who hold more than one certificate only have to pay one renewal fee. Late renewals are permitted for an additional fee.
