Interaxle spacing weight limits | See Schedule N of the Large Vehicle Control Regulations at http://tinyurl.com/NTsizeandweight. If interaxle spacing weights cannot be met, a permit is required. |
Side mirrors, reflectors, lights, and cargo securement devices extending beyond the widest part of a vehicle are not counted in the total width of the vehicle.
Aerodynamic devices at the rear of a truck, full trailer, or semitrailer are not to be considered in the length of a vehicle if the aerodynamic device does not carry cargo and meets both of the following conditions:
- Any portion of the device that is more than 1.9 metres above the ground does not protrude more than 0.61 metres beyond the rear of the vehicle; and
- Any portion of the device that is within 1.9 metres of the ground does not protrude more than 0.305 metres beyond the rear of the vehicle.
A vehicle cannot be operated at a weight that will exceed the vehicle’s maximum gross vehicle weight rating as established by the manufacturer.
