The drip pad surface must be cleaned to remove accumulated residues of hazardous waste or other materials to allow for the required weekly inspections of the entire drip pad surface. The date and time of each cleaning and the cleaning procedures used must be documented in the facility’s operating log.
The owner or operator must determine whether residues are hazardous and, if so, manage them as hazardous wastes according to the requirements under Section 301 of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act.
