During hot weather workers will need to drink more liquid than their thirst indicates. Workers must be trained to increase fluid intake, regardless of their activity level.
During heavy exercise or activities in a hot environment, drink two to four glasses (16-32 ounces) of cool fluids each hour. Avoid drinks containing caffeine or alcohol because they will actually cause you to lose more fluid.
