How much FMLA leave do employees receive?

Eligible employees can take up to 12 weeks of job-protected leave in a 12-month period. Employees are eligible for leave under the law if they:

Work for an employer with 50 or more employees or for a public agency or school,
Have worked for the employer for at least 12 months as of the date FMLA leave is to begin,
Have worked at least 1,250 hours for the employer during the 12-month period immediately before the first day of leave;and
Work in a location where there are 50 employees within 75 miles of that worksite.
