Motor carriers are required to have the EBT records available to FMCSA in the event of an audit. Most carriers just ask the collection site to provide the records as needed, rather than request them as they are being done.
The carrier may ask to see the alcohol testing personnel training records. The carrier has the option of retaining copies of these records or asking for them if an auditor asks to see them.
Note that EBT and alcohol testing personnel training records applies to all facilities used by the motor carrier. Technically, if the motor carrier uses a facility just once (e.g., post-accident alcohol test) and never used again, the carrier is still responsible for this information in the event of an audit.
