For reporting CDR data, manufacturers (including importers) are required to use e-CDRweb (the CDR reporting tool) and the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) Central Data Exchange (CDX) system to create an electronic version of Form U (EPA Form 7740-8) and to submit information in response to the requirements of the CDR rule (40 CFR Part 711). Covered manufacturers (including importers) must register with CDX to submit online, and they must register the name of the company on whose behalf they are submitting a Form U. EPA doesn’t accept paper submissions or electronic media (diskette, CD-ROM, etc.) for any CDR submission (711.35).
To get you started, two guides are available on the CDR website (epa.gov/cdr):
- The CDX Chemical Safety and Pesticide Programs (CSPP) Registration User Guide, which covers the specifics of CDX registration and accessing the e-CDRweb reporting tool; and
- The e-CDRweb User Guide — Primary Support, which provides information for getting started with the reporting tool and includes representative screenshots.
