Hawaii has adopted Part 395 of the Federal Regulations.
Section 395.1(i) states that logs are not required, provided the carrier maintains time records showing the total number of hours the driver is on duty each day and the time at which the driver reports for and is released from duty each day.
Applicability
Part 395 applies to interstate and intrastate operation of a vehicle with a gross vehicle weight rating or gross combination weight rating, or gross vehicle weight or gross combination weight of 10,001 pounds or more, whichever is greater, or a vehicle of any size transporting a placardable amount of hazardous materials.
