Non-IFTA carriers operating IFTA-qualified vehicles into New Mexico must obtain a fuel trip permit for operation in New Mexico. The permit is valid for a single trip, or 48 hours.
A temporary tax identification permit/registration permit is required for all vehicles greater than 12,000 pounds that do not have the New Mexico weight-distance tax credential.
Fees
Fuel trip permit, $5 plus $0.05/mile
