Carriers operating IFTA qualified vehicles without an IFTA license and decals may enter Arkansas by obtaining an entry slip at the port of entry stations. The slip will show the location of the station, date, time of arrival and the vehicle’s mileage reading. At the port of exit, the entry slip will be surrendered. If sufficient fuel has not been purchased in Arkansas from a dealer to meet the mileage traveled, the driver pays the fuel tax on the deficit. The calculations are based on vehicle type and standardized miles per gallon (MPG), for example, 5 MPG for vehicles with a gross vehicle weight or gross vehicle weight rating in excess of 22,500 pounds. An unlicensed user who has not purchased sufficient fuel in the state is subject to fines if exit is made without stopping at a weigh scale.
Fees
