New York follows the federal OSHA safety and health program requirements for ergonomics. Federal OSHA does not currently have an ergonomics standard. Ergonomic issues in this state are covered under OSHA's General Duty Clause, which requires employers to provide a safe and healthy workplace, free from recognized hazards.
