In Pennsylvania, private-sector employers are not required by law to reimburse employee expenses. However, if the employer has agreed to pay such expenses (for example, as part of an employment agreement), such payments are considered “fringe benefits and wage supplements” and must be paid within 60 days of an employee’s claim.
At least some state employees in Pennsylvania are entitled to reimbursement of travel expenses, including mileage, lodging, parking and tolls, and similar items. Some reimbursement policies and rates may be determined by state employee collective bargaining agreements.
