Summary of state requirements: Before a seasonal employee performs services, the employer must provide a special written notice to inform the employee of the possibility that wages earned in seasonal employment will be excluded from consideration when determining eligibility for unemployment insurance benefits.

WARN Act Notice
Summary of state requirements: An employer who has decided on closing a business or mass layoffs shall provide written notice of such action to all affected employees no later than 60 calendar days before the date of the closing or layoffs.

Unemployment Availability
Summary of optional notice: Upon separation of employment, an employer can opt to notify the employee of the availability of unemployment insurance by letter, email, text message, flyer, or any other department-approved method. The employer can also provide the employee with the printed poster required by Wisc. Admin. Code DWD 120.01.
