Paid Family Leave Insurance

Right to be Free of Gender Inequity
Summary of state requirements: Every employer in this State with 50 or more employees, shall provide each worker of the employer with a written copy of the notification detailing the right to be free of gender inequity or bias in pay, compensation, benefits or other terms or conditions of employment.
This notice must be given no later than 30 days after the form of the notification is issued by the commissioner; at the time of the worker's hiring, if the worker is hired after the issuance; annually, on or before December 31 of each year; and at any time, upon the first request of the worker.
The employer shall make the written copy of the notification available to each worker by email delivery, via printed material, or through an Internet or Intranet website in English, Spanish, and any other language that the commissioner determines is the first language of a significant number of workers in the State.

Whistleblower: Conscientious Employee Protection Act
Summary of state requirements: An employer with 10 or more employees must annually distribute written notices of the protections, obligations, rights and procedures provided to the employees by the provisions of P.L.1986, c.105 (C.34:19-1 et seq.).

NJFLA Notification
Summary of state requirements: All employers covered by the Family Leave Act (N.J.S.A. 34:11B-1 et seq.), whether or not they have any eligible employees under the act, shall display the official Family Leave Act poster of the Division in places easily visible to all employees. Whenever the poster is modified, the Division shall issue and publicize a public notice consistent with N.J.A.C. 13:1E-4.4 to alert covered employers that a revised poster has been published and is available from the Division.

WARN Act Notice
Summary of state requirements: In the case of an employer who employs 100 or more employees, the employer must provide notification of the termination or transfer of operations or mass layoff to each employee whose employment is to be terminated within 90 days.

Unemployment Insurance
Summary of state requirements: Every employer must post and maintain posted notices informing employees of the employer's coverage. The Division of Unemployment and Temporary Disability Insurance shall provide notice to each individual receiving compensation under the provisions of the "Temporary Disability Benefits Law," P.L.1948, c.110 (C.43:21-25 et seq.) explaining the conditions under which the individual may receive unemployment compensation pursuant to this 1991 amendatory and supplementary act.

New Jersey Earned Sick Leave Notice of Employee Rights
Summary of state requirements: Employers shall provide notification to employees of their rights under this act, including the amount of earned sick leave to which they are entitled in English, Spanish, or other provided languages. The employer shall also provide each employee with a written copy of the notification:
- Not later than 30 days after the form of the notification is issued;
- At the time of the employee's hiring, if the employee is hired after the issuance; and
- At any time, when first requested by the employee.

Employer Obligation to Maintain and Report Records
Summary of state requirements: This notice must be conspicuously posted and each employee must also be provided a written copy of the notice at the time of the employee’s hiring. All employers must provide employees at time of hiring a required notice (form number MW-400) describing the employer’s obligation to maintain and report records regarding wages, benefits, taxes and other contributions and assessments.

Payment of Wages
Summary of state requirements: All employers shall notify employees of the rate of pay and the regular payday and of changes in pay rates or paydays prior to the changes at the time of hire. Employers shall also provide employees with form MW-400 at the time of hire.
