Michigan has adopted Part 392 of the Federal Regulations.
Part 392 applies to an intrastate vehicle with a gross vehicle weight, gross vehicle weight rating, gross combination weight, or gross combination weight rating of 10,001 pounds or more (whichever is greater), or any size vehicle transporting a placardable amount of hazardous materials.
The speed limit for a truck with a gross weight of 10,000 pounds or more, a truck-tractor, a truck-tractor with a semi-trailer or trailer, or a combination of these vehicles is 65 mph on a limited access freeway or state trunk line highway. These vehicles may not exceed 65 mph when the posted speed limit is greater than 65 mph.
