Federal regulations

Louisiana has adopted Part 392 of the Federal Regulations.

Applicability

Part 392 applies to all intrastate commercial motor vehicles with a single or combined gross vehicle weight or gross vehicle weight rating over 26,000 pounds, and all vehicles transporting hazardous materials.

Speed limit

The speed limit is 70 mph on non-urban interstate, 55 to 60 mph on other highways.
