Kansas has adopted Part 392 of the Federal Regulations.
Applicability
Part 392 applies to vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating, gross combination weight rating, gross vehicle weight, or gross combination weight of 10,001 pounds or more, or vehicles transporting hazardous materials requiring placarding.
Exception — Private motor carriers domiciled in Kansas operating vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating, gross combination weight rating, gross vehicle weight, or gross combination weight of 10,001 to 26,000 pounds are exempt from compliance with Part 392. This exemption does not apply to motor vehicles which are used in the transportation of hazardous materials and required to be placarded.
Speed limit
75 mph (or as posted) on rural interstates, 55 mph to 65 mph (or as posted) on other highways.
