An employer must provide a PAPR if the PLHCP determines that the use of a negative pressure respirator would place the employee at increased risk for adverse health effects, and the PLHCP finds that the employee can use a PAPR. If a subsequent medical evaluation finds that the employee is able to use a negative pressure respirator, a PAPR need no longer be provided.
