South Carolina does not have a specific state law requiring private-sector employers to reimburse employee expenses.
State employees traveling on state business are allowed reimbursement for authorized and documented expenses for food, meals, and transportation (including mileage if a personal vehicle is used). Exact requirements for and restrictions on state employee reimbursement can be found in the State of Carolina Statewide Disbursement Regulations.
