Oklahoma is under federal OSHA jurisdiction, which covers most private sector workers within the state. State and local government workers are not covered by federal OSHA.
Underground facilities
The Oklahoma Underground Facilities Damage Prevention Act (63 Okl. St. §§ 142.1 to 142.13) requires excavators to give notice of proposed excavations to a statewide one-call notification center which notifies operators of underground facilities (i.e., communications, electricity, power, light, heat, gas, hazardous liquid, carbon dioxide, water, steam, sewage, etc.) so that they can locate and mark their facilities to prevent damage, interruption of service, or injury to excavation workers.
