Hawaii incorporates by reference most of the July 1, 2017, edition of the federal OSHA general industry requirements for conveyors; therefore, the state requirements are identical to the federal requirements, except for some revised definitions found in HAR 12-60-50.
Note that federal OSHA 29 CFR 1910.6(e)(17) incorporates by reference ANSI B20.1-1957 , Safety Code for Conveyors, Cableways, and Related Equipment, for certain standards within the following special industries:
- 1910.218 – Forging machines
- 1910.261 – Pulp, paper, and paperboard mills
- 1910.263 – Bakeries
- 1910.265 – Sawmills
