Contingent Workforce/Independent Contractor Rules - Connecticut
Connecticut does not define independent contractor for purposes of wage and hour law; therefore, federal FLSA law would apply.
Employee: Any individual employed or permitted to work by an employer.
Different state agencies may use different rules and tests to determine employment status, such as the ABC test for unemployment compensation, and common law rules for the Dept. of Revenue Service.
