ClassDescription
Class AAny combination of vehicles with a gross combination weight rating (GCWR) in excess of 26,000 pounds, provided the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
Class BAny single vehicle with a GVWR in excess of 26,000 pounds or any such vehicle towing a vehicle not in excess of 10,000 pounds GVWR.
Class CAny single vehicle with a GVWR not in excess of 26,000 pounds, when the vehicle is:
  • Required to be placarded for hazardous materials;
  • Designed to transport more than 15 passengers, including the driver, or
  • Used as a school bus.
Class DAny single vehicle with a GVWR not in excess of 26,000 pounds, or a combination vehicle with a GCWR not in excess of 26,000 pounds.
