Class	Description
Class A	Any combination of vehicles with a gross combination weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, provided the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is more than 10,000 pounds.
Class B	A single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or a vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds towing a vehicle with a GVWR of 10,000 pounds or less. Also includes a bus with a GVWR of 26,001 pounds or more designed to transport 16 or more passengers, including the driver.
Class C	Any single vehicle less than 26,001 pounds GVWR, or any such vehicle towing a vehicle not in excess of 10,000 pounds GVWR provided that the vehicle is: Used in the transportation of a placardable amount of hazardous materials; or Designed to transport 16 or more passengers including the driver; or Designed to transport eight to 15 passengers including the driver and is used for hire; or Required to be registered as a school bus; or Operated by, or under contract with, a public or governmental agency, or religious or other charitable organization or corporation, or is privately operated, and is used for the transportation of children to or from a school, school connected activity, day camp, summer day camp, summer residence camp, nursery school, child care center, preschool center or other similar places of education.
Class D	Automobile license.
