Class	Description
Class A	Combination of vehicles with a gross combination weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 pounds or more, provided the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle(s) being towed is 10,001 pounds or more.
Class B	Single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 pounds or more, or any such vehicle towing a vehicle with a GVWR of 10,000 pounds or less.
Class C	A single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,000 pounds or less (may tow a vehicle with a GVWR of 10,000 pounds or less): Designed to transport 16 or more passengers, including the driver; or Transporting hazardous materials requiring placarding.
Class E	A person who receives compensation to drive any motor vehicle in the transportation of persons or property, or who drives a motor vehicle for hire, or regularly drives a commercial motor vehicle of another person in the course of or incidental to their employment. The holder of a Class E license cannot drive a vehicle requiring a Class A, B, or C license.
Class F	A motor vehicle other than one requiring a Class A, B, C, or E license, including any recreational vehicle used solely for personal use.
