Oklahoma has adopted Part 393 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs).
Part 393 applies to intrastate drivers of vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating or gross combination weight rating, or a gross vehicle weight or gross combination weight of 26,001 pounds or more, or transporting hazardous materials requiring the vehicle to be placarded.
First Aid Kit | No requirements |
Mudflaps | All vehicles or combinations of vehicles not equipped with fenders over the rearmost wheels must have mudflaps or splashguards (a rubber or fabric apron) attached directly behind the rearmost wheels and hanging perpendicular from the body of the vehicle. The mudflaps or splashguards must be of such a size to prevent the bulk of water or any other substance picked up from the roadway from being thrown from the rear wheels at tangents exceeding 221/2 degrees measured from the road surface. |
Tires | Studded Tires - No tire may have blocks, studs, flanges, cleats, spikes or other protuberances of any material other than rubber projecting beyond the tread surface. |
Tire Chains - Tire chains of reasonable proportions may be used when required for safety because of snow, ice, or other conditions tending to cause a vehicle to skid |
