Each state manages Clean Air Act operating permits differently. Use the chart below to determine if additional requirements apply to your operations.
Title V of the Clean Air Act consolidates federally enforceable operating permit programs into one document and defines all applicable air pollution control requirements to which a “major” source is subject.
A major source is defined as a facility with the potential to emit 100 tons/year or more of a criteria pollutant, or a facility with the potential to emit 10 tons per year or more of a single hazardous air pollutant (HAP), or 25 tons per year or more of any combination of HAPs.
